Learn about real, improvised & adapted weapons
What is a Weapon? ๐ค
A weapon is any tool or object used to cause harm or gain an advantage in conflict. This includes legally defined items like knives and illegal modifications of everyday items.
๐ช Real Weapons
These include knives, guns, blunt-force tools, and legally defined weapons like tasers and batons. UK law strictly regulates possession of these items in public.
๐งฐ Improvised Weapons
Improvised weapons are everyday items used to defend yourself, such as keys, pens, water bottles, and belts. These are legal but can still be used dangerously.
๐งฑ Adapted Weapons
Adapted weapons are modified tools turned into weapons, such as a sharpened toothbrush or sock filled with rocks. These are often treated as offensive weapons under the law.
โ๏ธ UK Law & Legality
Carrying weapons without lawful reason is a criminal offence. Even carrying an object for self-defence can be illegal if the intent is to use it as a weapon. Always check local laws!
