π Drugs as a Threat Multiplier
What this module is about:
This module explains why drugs rarely create danger on their own β but
dramatically multiply existing risks.
They change behaviour, distort perception, reduce predictability,
and make environments far harder to assess safely.
This training is not moral judgement, not law enforcement advice, and not about telling people what to do with their lives. It is about recognising when safety conditions are degrading and acting early β before escalation, harm, or exploitation occurs.
Why Drugs Multiply Risk (Rather Than Cause It)
Most serious incidents involving drugs occur because substances interact with people, places, and pressure. Drugs remove predictability β and predictability is what keeps situations safe.
π§ Cognitive Distortion
Threats are misread. Intent is misunderstood. Logical reasoning weakens.
β‘ Emotional Volatility
Mood swings, paranoia, impulsivity, and sudden aggression become more likely.
π― Exploitation Window
Impaired people are easier to manipulate, isolate, and pressure.
π₯ Bystander Risk
Even if youβre sober, someone elseβs impairment can put you at risk.
Threat Multiplier Simulator
This tool shows how drugs stack with environment and conflict to increase danger β often faster than people expect.
β οΈ Early Warning Signals (Often Missed)
Drug-related danger usually appears as behaviour changes before overt violence or crisis. Tap any signals you recognise.
π Scenario: Volatility & Control Loss
Someone under the influence becomes paranoid and accusatory. Their tone shifts rapidly and reasoning no longer calms them.
